Africa’s Gift supports projects that connect nutrition, food growing, safer cooking, education and environmental restoration. Each one responds to local priorities and is designed to create practical, lasting benefit.

Nutrition does not begin in the kitchen. It begins with the soil, the water available for growing, the variety of food within reach and the way each meal is prepared.
In Malealea, Africa’s Gift supports a connected, community-led approach that brings these elements together — from regenerating degraded soil and conserving rainfall to household gardens, practical education and locally made Eco Cook Bags.
A fifteen-minute walk from Malealea Lodge, the Teaching Farm is a working demonstration of what regenerative agriculture looks like in practice — farming with nature rather than against it.
Its roots lie alongside the Malealea Development Trust and Rotary International, with support from Africa’s Gift, Eternal Flame Worldwide, Kingsley Napley and Sheffield Hallam University.

An Eco Cook Bag is a simple insulated bag that allows a heated pot to continue cooking away from the fire. Bring the food to the boil, seal the covered pot inside the bag, and the heat already in the pot finishes the job.
In Malealea, the bags are made locally using plant-based insulation — connecting more efficient cooking with local skills, livelihoods and the regeneration of degraded land.
Our work in South Africa is centred around two extraordinary communities, each with a remarkable person at its heart.
In very different landscapes — from the bushveld on the edge of Pretoria to the vast Karoo — Africa’s Gift is working alongside local leaders who are already investing their time, energy and vision in the people around them.

On the edge of Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a former eucalyptus plantation is being transformed into a more diverse landscape of medicinal plants, food crops and coffee.
Marian’s Eden brings conservation, traditional knowledge and practical development together — creating a place that can grow useful plants, protect important knowledge and build new opportunities for the future.
Every donation funds the soil, water, growing and cooking work in Lesotho, South Africa and Uganda — delivered by volunteers, with the communities that run each project.
A single donation, any amount.
Regular support lets projects plan ahead.
