Africa’s Gift has a super fundraiser in Faye Smith, founder of Hope Walking, and she is now undertaking her biggest challenge yet: walking the Camino del Norte.

It isn’t the first time Faye has walked for Africa’s Gift. In September and October 2024 she walked the Central Portuguese Way solo, from Lisbon to Santiago de Compostela, raising £1 for every kilometre for Africa’s Gift.

The Camino del Norte, or Northern Way, is longer still. It runs for around 817 kilometres from Irún, in the Basque Country near the French border, along Spain’s northern coast to Galicia, before heading inland to Santiago de Compostela. It is usually walked over about five weeks.

Faye is posting about her journey on Facebook as she goes, and there’s plenty to follow.
